Abstract

Solvanthis DAO combines a Guernsey-regulated Protected Cell Company with on-chain vault-based collateral management and decentralized governance to create the first blockchain-native licensed reinsurer. The platform transforms reinsurance risk into a liquid, transparent, and accessible asset class.

The global reinsurance market is valued at $650 billion yet remains concentrated among a handful of incumbents, with 75% of capacity controlled by the top 10 players. Placement cycles average 8–12 weeks, claims settle over 6–24 months, and intermediation costs the market $6–8 billion annually.

Solvanthis addresses these inefficiencies by reducing placement time to 48 hours, cutting intermediation costs by 30–40%, and settling parametric claims within hours through oracle-verified triggers—all while operating under a full regulatory license.

1. Market Opportunity

The reinsurance industry suffers from structural inefficiencies that have persisted for decades. Ten brokers control over 60% of placements, acting as gatekeepers between cedants and capacity. Only 20–30 global reinsurers manage $400+ billion in capital, and pricing does not reflect real-time loss experience or forward-looking climate data.

Catastrophe losses have grown 3.5x over the past two decades, with climate-related events now accounting for 65% of economic losses. Annual insured catastrophe losses reach $130–150 billion. Solvanthis targets a Year 5 addressable market of $8–12 billion, representing 1.5–2% of the global market.

2. Entity Structure

Solvanthis operates through a dual-jurisdiction framework designed to balance regulatory compliance with decentralized governance.

Protected Cell Company

The Guernsey PCC structure ring-fences each reinsurance transaction in its own protected cell with separate accounting for solvency tracking. This prevents contagion risk: a single mega-catastrophe cannot exhaust multiple cells. Each cell is fully collateralized and cryptographically isolated using ERC-1155 vault tokens.

Why Guernsey? Established ILS jurisdiction with proportionate regulatory framework, lighter than Bermuda or Cayman Class C, with clear pathways for innovative insurance structures.

3. Token Economics

$SOLV is an ERC-20 governance token with ERC20Votes delegation hooks, deployed on Ethereum L1. Token holders participate in governance, earn fee distributions, and benefit from the buyback-and-burn mechanism.

Team tokens vest progressively over 4 years (62.5M/year) with a 12-month lockup and no cliff. Public sale at $0.10 maximizes community participation. Accepted currencies: ETH, USDC, USDT, BTC.

4. Fee Distribution

Buyback executed on-chain via Uniswap V3 for maximum transparency. Staker distributions are quarterly and pro-rata. Burn trajectory: 80M SOLV (8% of supply) by Year 5.

5. Vault Architecture

Vaults are implemented as ERC-1155 multi-token contracts, ensuring cryptographic isolation of each PCC cell. This prevents LP token NAV contagion across cells—a critical safety property for reinsurance capital pools.

Capital providers deposit USDC into cells. Smart contracts lock collateral, collect premiums from cedants, and distribute investment returns. 20% of risk is ceded to A-rated traditional reinsurers for volatility management.

Secondary Market

Cell tokens trade on decentralized exchanges post-capitalization, enabling liquidity unavailable in traditional ILS vehicles, real-time price discovery, and dynamic position management without waiting for policy expiration.

Jurisdictional Framework

Guernsey GFSC: Category 6 SPI license with proportionate capital requirements and PCC regulatory endorsement.

EU MiCA: SOLV qualifies as utility token. CASP compliance pathway enables EU-wide passporting.

Cayman Islands: Foundation Companies Act for token governance and treasury management.

US Exclusion: US persons are explicitly excluded from the offering under Regulation S. Smart contract geofencing and OFAC sanctions screening enforced at protocol level.

Structural Moats

Solvanthis is the only blockchain-native platform with a regulatory reinsurance license, PCC ring-fencing, ERC-1155 vault isolation, and secondary market liquidity for cell tokens. This combination is unavailable to both traditional reinsurers and DeFi-only insurance protocols.

13. Risk Factors

Financial: Participants may lose their entire investment. SOLV token value may decline to zero. Catastrophic losses could exhaust solvency capital. Early-stage whale concentration may influence governance.

Regulatory: Crypto regulation is evolving rapidly. If SOLV is reclassified as a security, forced buyback or delisting may occur. Guernsey GFSC could impose additional requirements. SOLV receives no government deposit insurance.

Technology: Smart contract vulnerabilities could result in fund loss despite audits. Corrupted oracle data could cause incorrect parametric claims. Ethereum network issues could prevent access to funds.

Operational: Traditional insurers may resist decentralized infrastructure. DAO governance could result in gridlock. Claims handling errors or IT outages could damage operational results.
